Enhancing Workers Rights

ZCATWU was formed by workers in the construction industry so that they can collectively defend and enhance their rights in terms fair wages, safe workplaces, decent hours of work and creating opportunities for continuous learning. 

Unity of Purpose

ZCATWU organizes workers from different workplaces and different backgrounds in a bid to build unite and establish a strong voice for workers to defend their rights and interests.

Occupational Health and Safety

Given the nature of Construction work which is characterised with working on heights, outdoors, operating heavy machinery and generally being work which demands lots of energy and power. With that in mind, ZCATWU has ensured that the health and safety of its members and all workers in the construction industry of Zimbabwe is of  priority by negotiating for statutes which seek to protect the health and safety of construction workers.

Everyone faces challenging and stressful events in their lives. Most of the time we can handle these situations ourselves; other times we could benefit from some support.

Effective Representation of Construction Workers

Z.C.A.T.W.U defends the rights of members and negotiates nationally binding collective agreements. These agreements establish enforceable minimum standards of pay and other conditions of employment that must be respected in the construction industry.

Z.C.A.T.W.U is one of Zimbabwe’s most influential unions. Members enjoy a wide range of benefits and may be granted legal aid in the event of civil disputes with an employer.
